Our Story & Sustainability

Rooted in Nature. Built to Last.

Nature's Fabrics was founded on a simple belief: the materials we choose matter — for the things we make, for the people who make them, and for the planet we share. We source only premium natural fibers, and we hold every yard to the same standard we'd want for ourselves.

Our Founding Story

We started Nature's Fabrics because we were frustrated with the status quo — synthetic blends marketed as "natural," opaque supply chains, and fabrics that didn't hold up. We set out to build a direct relationship between makers and the finest natural fibers in the world: bamboo from certified forests, hemp grown without pesticides, organic cotton from family farms, traceable wool, and heirloom linen. Every fabric in our collection has a story, and we're committed to telling it honestly.

Our Fabrics & Where They Come From

🌿 Bamboo

Sourced from FSC-certified bamboo forests. Naturally  moisture-wicking, and exceptionally soft. Processed using closed-loop lyocell methods to minimize water and chemical use.

🌱 Hemp

Grown without synthetic pesticides or herbicides. Hemp improves soil health with every crop cycle and requires a fraction of the water of conventional cotton. Our hemp is retting-processed for a naturally soft hand feel.

☁️ Organic Cotton

GOTS-certified organic cotton from family farms. No GMO seeds, no synthetic fertilizers. Soft, breathable, and grown with full traceability from field to fabric.

🐑 Wool

Responsibly sourced from farms committed to animal welfare and land stewardship. Our wool partners are audited against the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) to ensure ethical practices at every step.

🌾 Linen

European flax linen, grown in rain-fed fields with no irrigation required. One of the most durable and biodegradable natural fibers available. Our linen is OEKO-TEX certified — free from harmful substances.

Our Standards & Certifications

We don't just take suppliers at their word. We require third-party verification across our supply chain:

  • GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) — organic cotton and processing
  • OEKO-TEX Standard 100 — tested for harmful substances across all fabrics
  • FSC Certification — responsible forest management for bamboo
  • Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) — animal welfare and land management
  • REACH Compliance — EU chemical safety standards

Our Sustainability Commitment

Sustainability isn't a marketing claim for us — it's a constraint we design around. That means:

  • We only carry natural, biodegradable fibers — no synthetic blends
  • We prioritize suppliers with verified environmental and labor practices
  • We ship in recycled and recyclable packaging
  • We publish our sourcing partners so you can verify our claims
  • We're working toward full supply chain transparency by 2027

We know there's always more to do. We publish an annual sustainability update and welcome questions from our community.
