This Stretch French Terry is 65% Bamboo Viscose, 30% Hemp and 5% Spandex. It is 60" wide and weighs in at 380 GSM. This Bamboo Stretch French Terry stretches approximately 50% in the width and 60% in the length. It feels sturdy and yet exquisitely soft. One side is a flat knit and the other side is a smooth knit.
It is a great alternative to our bamboo stretch fleece. It is perfect for yoga pants, cloth diapers, child’s pants, shorts, hoodies and work-out clothing.
The weight of this fabric may vary with each manufacturing shipment. Dye lots will vary, some black dyed fabric may appear lighter than others.
Made in China.

Super happy with the weight and feel on this one. Going to be some gorgeous reversed then tie dyed flats.
Great quality fabric! Nice stretch and recovery. Soft for a hemp fabric. Ready to work with and super absorbent!! I will be buying more.
I bought this to make into nice stretchy flats for cloth diapers. My friend had some that were the same fabric content that she bought from a shop who said they got it from natures fabrics. I’m not sure if they changed the way it was produced but this is not as soft and floppy as my friend’s diapers. This is stretchy and has good absorbency but when this is wet with pee or coming out of the washer, it gets a little rough and very stiff.. feels like wet jeans. Definitely not my favorite even though I spent the most money on them. When it comes to diapers, I’d look elsewhere.
I did make a really beautiful bow out of this and it makes great boosters since it doesn’t matter that it gets stiff while wrapped inside another diaper.
I like this fabric, but I find the information listed a little misleading:
1. Color- it is not a solid black color. It is more of a black/dark charcoal heather-ish blend with some texture. The photo provided is too low resolution to show this texture and color.
2. Softness - it is fairly soft for a hemp blend fabric, but I would not call it "exquisitely soft". It's not scratchy, but it's not really soft, either.
3. Alternative to bamboo stretch fleece - it is quite different in color, texture, and softness. The bamboo stretch fleece is darker, smoother, and much softer than this fabric. The bamboo fleece feels "cozy" and fuzzy to me, but this french terry does not.
4. Perfect for yoga pants - I just made yoga-style pants with this fabric, and they go sheer bending over (not "squat proof"), so they would not be suitable to wear as yoga pants in an actual yoga class. They are still fine to wear with a longer shirt - they are not super sheer, just not opaque enough to be real yoga pants.
The fabric does have nice stretch, though, and it was pleasant to cut and sew.
Though it is heavy in weight (380 GSM), it is not super thick - I'd say it's more of a medium thickness. I thought it would be a winter weight fabric, but I'd call it more of a spring/fall weight.

from 1466 reviewsI wanted to make some clothing for our grandson. It was the perfect weight for a one piece romper. 5 stars
This fabric is a great match to the “waffle” fabric of the same color name, I got enough for trim, and for a top besides, and I’m loving the results and the wear of this fabric.
So happy! Cotton velour at a normal price is apparently very hard to find. The seller shipped so fast! This baby blue is such a pretty soft color. The velour itself is soft, thin, dense, and exactly what I need for tiny dolls. I was delighted with the 6 samples they included. All were clearly labeled so i could see and feel them. Just a great store and purchase! Delightful online shopping experience! Thank you!
I feel so lucky to have found this store. Beautiful fabrics and a great price! Seller shipped so fast. I had my fabric in under a week during the actual week of Christmas. I was delighted to see 6 samples clearly labeled so I could feel and see the fabric. This cotton velour is soft, thin, yet dense, and just the perfect amount of 2 way stretch! The color is aptly named ballet pink, as it that beautiful pink, without being to bright. Love the color! Thank you!
So happy I found this great seller! I have been looking for cotton velour for tiny dolls. This is perfect! Soft, thin, dense, perfect amount of stretch. The seller included 6 samples clearly labeled for me to see, and feel other types of fabric they carry. Perfectly packaged! 2 yards total. They shipped so fast! Over the moon! Thank you!
WOW! I am so happy I found Nature's Fabrics! I just received my first order. I make tiny dolls and have been hunting a cotton, or natural velour, for months. I can find a lot of 100% synthetic ones but this is absolutely perfect. I will definitely order more so I can dye it. I ordered 4 different 1/2 yards and im so pleased! Neatly packed and they sent 6 samples clearly labeled so I could see the thicknesses and stretch. Absolutely delighted! This white velour is thin, dense, soft, with the perfect about of 2 way stretch. Thank you so much!
Adorable and so soft!
I was totally satisfied with the cotton fleece fabric. The fabric was thick and had a wonderful feel on both sides!
This was my second order for Merino wool jersey. I love that the website provides such good descriptions of each item, especially the fabric weight. Color is as expected from the website, rich and beautiful. I always pre-wash fabric - colors were not affected by the washer or dryer. SERVICE gets a SUPER star rating. Fast, efficient, accurate. The site makes it easy to order. I’m glad I found this site!
I will be using these fabrics in the coming year. Very nice pieces. Great service as always from Nature’s Fabrics.
This was lovely fabric to work with, made some outfits for my grandkids. Looking forward to making more
The descriptions provided make it easy to know what I’m buying. Nothing beats seeing and touching the fabric in person, but this site gives detailed information. Many online fabric sites don’t tell you anything about fabric weight, and you sure can’t tell from looking at a photo. This site made it easy to find exactly what I was looking for, and service was fast and frictionless!
As always, great experience, fast shipping. Love the cotton Lycra.
