Woman in white shirt with knots

Quick, easy and FREE T shirt

I always love a quick and easy pattern- add the word free and my day is made. I found this pattern at It’s Always Autumn, a blog I recently discovered. The pattern is just 3 pieces, a front, back and a band for the neck. You can lengthen or shorten the shirt to your liking. They have about 50 patterns on that blog- all look like great projects.

I used a basic cotton jersey fabric from Nature’s Fabrics for this pattern. The fabric is priced at $7.99 per yard for the knot fabric. A price like that and you almost can’t go wrong. I think it did take about a yard of 60” wide fabric for this shirt. I have also used bamboo/spandex jersey fabric and Tercel/spandex jersey fabric for this same pattern. I used a black linen knit fabric to make this same t shirt in a longer length and used it for a beach cover up.
The pattern calls for a narrow neckline and I hate cutting them that narrow, but if you don’t the neck won’t sit quite right. I recommend following the

My next sew for this pattern will be a dress from a wool jersey knit fabric
