Raspberry Bamboo Stretch Fleece worked well

I am a beginner sewist. This was only my third project with a knit. I made semi-fitted loungewear pants with no elastic in the waistband. First--I LOVE this red. It's a blue-toned cool red, truly like a raspberry! Second--fabric plumped up so soft and plush after first wash (cold, with fabric softener) and machine dry. It also shrunk six inches in the lengthwise grain. (This was a 1.5 yard cut.) After second wash (forgot fabric softener), it felt thinner and pilled a bit but is still soft. It was relatively easy to handle and sew. I cut the waistband on the lengthwise grain bc it is way more stretchy than crosswise grain. Worked well; fabric seems to have good recovery. I didn't have problems with edges curling. I sewed this without a serger, using a stretch overlock stitch. I have enough leftover to make some matching booties! I would use this fabric again. I would classify it as a midweight.
