We are officially in the midst of a blizzard. We won’t be getting mail or UPS today because of the weather. I offered to meet the parties at the end of the drive way, and hubby told me no, stay put. So, if you are looking for something to ship today, it isn’t looking likely.

I called the mail carrier and she said that they haven’t plowed the roads yet where she is. Since they canceled school, there is no hurry.

I bought a batch of Lanaset dye from Pro Chemical this week and here is the result of the red. It came out nice,  I used about 1/2 tsp dye, a tsp salt, and water. I got very little blotching or spotting. I did dissolve the dye in some boiling water per the directions. After getting it to a boil I added a cup of vinegar, but I had way too much dye, so I had to add quite a bit of vinegar. I am excited about these dyes, even though they were pricey.

If you look at the picture, you can see a coral color sticking out there, that was the first pair I did with some food color I had, they were way off. I will overdye those in navy I guess.

We listed a lot of new items on the website tonight. Most of them will be found in the knits section, I didn’t take the time to categorize them yet. But they are up, and fun to look at and go through.

I am sure you will all agree that we have had enough winter, no matter where you are in the country. Northwestern PA is no exception. Though the snow has been here since mid-December with no breaks, we are still only at 150″ for the season. Some years we get well over 200″.

Well, enough of the weather.

We have redesigned The Covered Caboose hyena cart, and will be rolling out some new products in the next few months, a cocoon sleep sack, some new dyed covers, and some new trainer styles. Everything takes so long to get accomplished.

We are receiving new fabrics everyday, yesterday we unpacked 2 large boxes, well over 200 yards of fabrics, a lot of knit prints. Which I hope to get listed on the site today.  They are already measured and photographed, listing them takes the most time.

We will be printing the car prints next week, keep an eye peeled for that, and the coming weeks we will be print the new ooga colors.

We had a busy week here, and are about caught up with shipping back orders, and cleaning out some things. We continue to collect names for people  interested in the retro cars. If you think you might be interested be sure to let me know, or join us in our yahoo forum.

We have worked through a lot of the new flap happy, they are such pretty fabrics, and a great quality as well. Not thin or twisting sorts of fabrics.

I have about 140 pounds of new fabrics to get listed, some really beautiful stuff, very unusual. Keep an eye peeled for new listings all the time.

This is the best colorway of the retro cars yet. We just love the variation Trisha came up with on this one!

Of course, my big plan for the day is to get the kids to school and get busy getting caught up. One of the kids is sick, and I have to get her into the Doctor. Most likely the local Doctor won’t be available until much later in the day, so I will be running to Erie, to get her checked at the Immediate Care sort of place.

I will get all the stuff shipped that I can. I will make a run to the post office tonight.

One of my most favorite prints is being re done. We will be offering this on bamboo interlock and cotton.

We need to pre sell quite a bit though. You can get details in the forum.

Retro Cars

The natural bamboo fleece came yesterday. I am working on orders this morning.

We also have a ton of new knit prints, once we get them sorted and measured we will get them listed. Anita G, and those sorts of things.
